Buffalo wild wings has always been a place of grand celebration for me as I’m a huge fan of almost all their food items. So, I have tried a few wild wings recipes myself, and Buffalo wild wings fried pickles recipe is one of them. (Try the Buffalo wild wings street tacos recipe, an amazingly flavorful, tasty, and unique recipe of mine.)

I may sound odd, but I must say that these fried pickles feel even better than the Buffalo Wild Wings fried pickle itself to me! I still keep ordering from the Buffalo Wild Wings, yet my homemade ones give me unmatchable taste and crispiness. You will get a sense of what I’m talking about when you prepare this recipe.

I came up with my version after watching Trisha’s Southern Kitchen and reading Trisha’s Table. But my version differs in a few ways from Trisha’s Table with a few modifications of my own. The pickles I get are flavorful and crispy even without being deep-fried. They are savory, healthy, and make a perfect snack!

Buffalo wild wings fried pickles ingredients

  • All-purpose flour (1/3 cup)
  • Large eggs (2 pieces)
  • Worcestershire sauce (1 tablespoon)
  • Hot sauce (1 tablespoon). You can use it as per your choices. But I use Frank’s Red Hot sauce.
  • Onion powder (1/2 teaspoon)
  • Garlic powder (1 teaspoon)
  • Panko breadcrumbs (1 cup)
  • Dill pickles, preferably sliced (1 jar; about 16 ounces)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (1/2cup)
  • To taste, a pinch of pepper, and
  • Salt

Directions

  • Step 01: At first, preheat the oven broiler. Take a baking sheet, place a cooling rack over it and spray both the equipment using non-stick spray.
  • Step 02: Now, take a medium-size bowl and put hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, flour, eggs, pepper, and salt in it and whisk. Make sure a smooth and perfectly combined mixture.
  • Step 03: Take another small size bowl and whisk Parmesan cheese and panko in it until finely combined.
  • Step 04: Coat the pickle slices using the previously made wet mixture. Coat pickle pieces one by one if you are using the long flat ones, or you can coat multiple pieces at a time if you are using “chips”. When the dredging process is completed, remove the excess (let drip off the excess).
  • Step 05: Then, transfer the pickle pieces to the breading mixture, place some Parmesan cheese and panko mixture over the pieces, and coat the pickle pieces nicely.
  • Step 06: Now, place the pickle pieces on the rack. Maintain a single layer and broil the pickle for 4-5 minutes for one side. Flip them over and broil the other side for 4-5 more minutes. By this time, the pickle should turn golden brown. If not, broil them for some more time.

As you have finished cooking the Buffalo wild wings fried pickles recipe, serve the dish along with your favorite dipping sauce. And if you are waiting for my recommendation, well, I use a combination of ranch dressing and hot sauce.

Tips and Tricks

There is only one secret of making your fried pickles crispy: reheating the pickles in the oven properly—Preheat the oven broiler to 350-degree Fahrenheit. Then place the pickles over a baking sheet and then reheat them for 10-15 minutes. It will make the cooked pickles crispier than ever

If you can manage, I recommend pairing this recipe with homemade buffalo wings, which will undoubtedly ensure the best Buffalo Wild Wings experience!
